There are far higher paying jobs hiring lots of people all over Stanly County. ERI should be avoided at all costs by everyone.

Not safe. The dirt and dust makes you constantly blow your nose or cough up black mucus. In the summer and winter months the temperatures can be very hot and cold. Fans and heaters aren't allowed due to a safety concern. Forklift drivers are sometimes not properly trained by management.

Credentials mean nothing. The supervisor in asset management tried to get the plant manager to transfer several people already employed with ERI who have college education, including masters degrees, to those higher paid more technical positions but it was denied and given to unqualified/undereducated workers who walked in the door as new hires.

ERI and the staffing company agreed to raise temp worker pay a dollar. Yet nobody else got a raise. Temp worker pay is the same as, or not far from people who have been here for years. Temp workers remain temp for a year. Insurance for temps is so bad it's like not having insurance at all.

The staffing company that hires temp workers for ERI also does not properly screen it's potential employees. People who have been hired as temp workers have told other employees that they passed a drug test here when they couldn't elsewhere. There have been people hired to work here who have been fired from their previous job for violent and threatening behavior to the point that law enforcement had to be called to remove them from the property. Over a period of a few months that person eventually starts displaying the same increasingly disturbing behavior to others at ERI who she viewed as "against" them. Including instigating conflict among other workers in the form of gossiping with the employees who are their friends. This created a disturbing work environment in which adults were constantly behaving like the "in crowd" group of children at a school. That person is then fired after these incidents of harassment are reported to upper level management and to human resources at the corporate office in California. Yet, all of that could have been prevented if management was doing their job in the first place. Workers have also come to work visibly intoxicated or under the influence of drugs and nothing was done about it.

People in supervisory positions abuse their authority. Management in the office, or supervisors, who are friends with parents of employees, or who have a network of close friends in the company, will allow certain ones to miss as many days as they want, falsify production amounts, take long breaks, and still keep their job. Anyone not protected is fired. There are some employees who have been with ERI for several years, and although they do not have a supervisory position, they want to act like they do and they will abuse their seniority. Some people who are personally disliked by management, speak out about how things are being conducted, or who notify management that someone "privileged" is doing something like lying about their production (with the proof it as well), will be set up and fired for false reasons because management simply wants them fired in order to cover up their corruption so they aren't the ones who lose their job when the corporate office catches wind of it. This has happened with at least two people in supervisory positions that I am personally aware of. Both during my time at the company, and after I left, people were terminated in this fashion. I have heard rumors of people in management doing this years before I even arrived at the company. This resulted in several of them being terminated all at once by corporate headquarters and new management being brought in. This appears to be a common everyday practice at ERI. At least at the branch in Badin. During my last week of working with the company I was only wished the best of luck at my new job and told I was appreciated as a worker for the 19 months I was there by 2 of the 4 people in upper level management, and not the highest ranking ones either. This behavior doesn't surprise me at all.
